What does carat mean in the purity of gold?

PURE GOLD (24 Karat) is too soft to be used normally in jewelry. Alloys with other metals are used to solve this problem and for the pieces to have a consistency. Thus, in addition to hardening, these metals give you different tones, nuances and colors.

In jewelry it is called Gold of Law or of 24 Kilates to the GOLD PURE.

The Gold of 18 Kilates (18K) is known as Gold of 1st Law or High Gold. This type of Gold has 18 parts of Pure Gold (24K) and 6 parts of other metals. This is the most appreciated gold in jewelry and is what we market. This Gold is contrasted with the 750 numbering which means that it has 75% Pure Gold and 25% other metals. 2nd Law Gold or Medium Gold also known as 14 Karat (14K) Gold carries 14 parts of Pure Gold and 10 parts of other metals.

Low or 10 Karat (10K) Gold contains 10 parts of Pure Gold and 14 parts of other metals. As is evident, the greater the amount of Pure Gold, the better the quality of the gold and the higher the price.
